Todd Energy is New Zealand’s largest domestically owned energy producer and is a subsidiary company of the family-owned Todd Corporation. The company is a significant and growing contributor to the New Zealand economy and holds interests in fields that together account for some 80% of New Zealand’s annual hydrocarbon production.
Within New Zealand, the company currently holds interests in six petroleum mining permits and participates in seven petroleum exploration permits, four of these as operator. On-going projects in New Zealand include further developing the Mangahewa field for which the company has purchased a new Bentec Euro 450t drilling rig which it has named ‘Big Ben’. Todd Energy is also managing, or participating in, exploration, appraisal and development programmes during 2014 at Maui, Maari, and Kapuni and will drill the Te Kiri North-1 exploration well onshore west Taranaki.
In both New Zealand and through its new business offices in North America and Australia, the company is poised for considerable further growth.
